Deputy with criminal history arrested for deadly conduct

Maverick County Sheriff's Deputy Gabriel Serrano, 40, was arrested early Saturday at 2:17 a.m. by Eagle Pass Police officers for firing an AR-15 style rifle outside the 1800 Bar located on 404 S. Texas Drive.

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber addressed the ruling on the The Show Me Your Papers Law ( Senate Bill 4) which was handed its first defeat by Federal Judge Orlando Garcia issuing a temporary blockage on the implementation of the “sanctuary cities” law that was supposed to go into effect on Friday September 1, 2017.
Sheriff and constable file lawsuit against State of Texas
As a result of the final approval of what is commonly known as the Show Me Your Papers Law, or SB 4, signed into effect by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on May 7, 2017, a group of law enforcement officials, cities, and counties have filed a federal lawsuit against the State of Texas in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division.
